Benne had the time of her life over the Christmas holiday. We took her to Gram and Gramps Robson's house, and she was happy as a lark. She purred all week and probably would've loved to stay there if we would've let her. Now that we're back home, she's a bit unruly again. She and Shady just refuse to behave cordially. She's received a good bill of health this year and got her feline leukemia vaccinations since Shady is allowed to go outside. Her only issue is that she's a bit overweight, only about 1-2 lbs. We'll work on that this summer.

We left Benne home with our roomie for Thanksgiving, and she was very bad and needy when we returned. I took the Monday off after we got home, and I decided to spend as much time with her as I could, which turned out to be all day. I loaded her up and took her to church with me to do my treasurer stuff, and then we went to the bank and the post office. She was very good and enjoyed the special attention. She has been extra naughty since our roomie moved in with her cat because the two of them are having a turf war. Benne's decided she likes to dart out the door any time it opens, and it drives me to meanness, shear meanness I tell ya. I'm so worried she's going to get herself hit by a car because she's so oblivious to her surroundings. It doesn't help that her mother died that very way when she was just a tiny kitty. :o(

Benne turns 3 today!! Seeing as how she didn't enjoy our little trip to the pet store last year, I think this year we'll stay in the comfort of our own home and do a few special things for her here. For breakfast she got a small can soft, smelly food, which she devoured instantly. I'd say she's enjoying her birthday morning! Then, after work I'll let her outside on her leash for a good birthday romp in the backyard.

Lately, Benne's been a little more affectionate than usual. She wakes me every morning around 6:30 just to say hello. She puts her front paws on my stomach and sits purring happily while I give her her morning dose of attention. It helps wake me up, so I don't object. It's really quite sweet.

Lately, Benne's been spending quite a bit of time outdoors. She loves to play in the backyard as often as we'll let her. Her favorite hobbies are chasing, swatting, and yes, eating bugs! (but, that's only when she's not napping) And, her winter coat is almost completely gone for the season, thank goodness.
